How to set up Auto-charge
The auto-charge feature allows either the business or the customer to configure a payment method to run automatically each invoice period.
Before auto-charge can be enabled, the customer must have a payment method on file and it must be attached to the lease. If there is not yet a payment method attached to the lease, please refer to the directions outlined here: Add Payment Method
To set up auto-charge (autopay) for a customer's lease, follow these steps:
- Go to the Leases section in your Unit Trac account.
- Select the lease for which you want to configure auto-charge, then click on 'Edit' in the Payment Method section.
- Select "Auto-charge Enabled" and choose the date for the first auto-charge.
- After selecting the date, the charges will run on that day of each period thereafter (e.g., the 5th of every month).
Helpful Tips:
- Auto-charge is configured, and runs, on a per-lease basis. If a customer has more than one lease, repeat the steps above for each one.
