Inactive Units

What is the difference between active units and inactive units?

Inactive units are charged at a lower rate than active units. A unit will be billed as either active or inactive. This is separate from the unit's status (which could be rentable, unrentable, needs repair, etc.)

Inactive unit pricing is based on whether the unit has been inactive for an entire billing cycle. If a unit has been inactive and is made active (even in the last few days of a billing cycle) it will be charged at the full active unit rate.

Additionally, a unit that has a current lease cannot be made inactive.

How much are active and inactive units charged?

Sign in to your account and go to your Business > Settings > Billing tab to see your active and inactive billing rate.

Billing Examples:

Billing cycle is Sept 1st - October 1st.

Example 1: Three units were marked inactive on August 28th. Those three units did not change to active status before the end of the billing period (Oct 1st). Those three units will be charged at the inactive rate.

Example 2: Three units were marked inactive on Sept 2nd. Those three units (regardless of any changes) will still be billed as active units for this billing period. They could qualify for inactive pricing if they stay inactive through the next billing period.

Example 3: Three units were marked inactive on August 28th. Two of those units were marked active on Sept 29th. Then on Sept 30th one of the units was marked back to inactive. This billing period only the one unit that wasn't initially switched to active will be billed as inactive, and the other two will be billed as active.
